今日のレッスンは「レストランの予約」です。 予約：reservation … Today’s lesson is making a reservation at a restaurant. みなさん、日本でレストランの予約をしたことがありますか？予約をする時は、だいたい電話で予約をしますよね。今日はSakura先生と一緒に、レストランの予約を練習しましょう。

A「はい、お電話ありがとうございます。居酒屋ピーチです。」 B「あ、もしもし。予約をお願いしたいんですが」 A「はい、いつがよろしいでしょうか」 B「金曜日の夜６時はあいていますか？」 A「はい、あいております。何名様でしょうか？」 B「３人です」 A「３名様ですね。では、お名前とお電話番号を教えていただけますか？」 B「はい。田中です。電話番号は000-1234-5678です」 A「田中様、000-1234-5678ですね。ありがとうございます。それでは、お待ちしております。」 B「はい、よろしくお願いします。失礼します。」 A「失礼いたします。」
４. どんなことを言っていた？
電話でどんなことを言っていたでしょうか？みなさん、わかりましたか？
さ「「お電話ありがとうございます。居酒屋ピーチです」と言いましたね。お店の人は「もしもし」をあまり使いません。「お電話ありがとうございます」と言います。それから、お店の名前を言います」 も「お電話ありがとうございます。Is “Thank you for calling” / and the restaurant staff tells a name of the restaurant.」 さ「「もしもし。予約をお願いしたいんですが」と言いました。「もしもし」は電話で話す時の「ハロー」です。また、何かをお願いする時は「〜をお願いしたいんですが…」と言うと自然です。」 も「もしもし is Hello only used when you are on the phone. 予約 is a reservation, so 予約をお願いしたいんですが… means “I would like to make a reservation”. In Japanese, when you want to request something, you say “…をお願いします”, but “〜をお願いしたいんですが…” that sounds more natural.」 さ「そして「いつがよろしいでしょうか？」と言いました。「いつがよろしいでしょうか？」は「いつがいいですか？」よりもっと丁寧な話し方です。」 も「いつ is when, いつがよろしいでしょうか？is “when would it be good for you? よろしい is more polite than いい. 」 さ「つぎに「金曜日の夜６時はあいていますか？」と言いました。「あいていますか？」は、「スペースがある」という意味です。ですから、「あいている席がありますか？」という意味になりますね。」 も「あいているmeans “to have a vacancy or space” so あいていますか？ Means “Is there a vacancy at that table?” 」 さ「それから「はい、あいております。何名様でしょうか？」ということで、席があいていることが分かりました。「何名様でしょうか？」は、「何人ですか？」よりもっと丁寧な言い方です」 も「So we could know they have a table. 何名様でしょうか？means How many people? It is politer than 何人ですか？」 さ「「３人です」と言ったら、店の人は「３名様ですね。では、お名前とお電話番号を教えていただけますか？」と言いました。 何かを丁寧に聞きたい時は「〜を教えていただけますか？」と言います」 も「教える means to let know , or to tell something. When you want to ask something very politely, you say “〜を教えていただけますか？”」 さ「そして「田中です。電話番号は000-1234-5678です」と言って、名前と電話番号を伝えました。そのあと、店の人はもう一度、お客様の名前と電話番号を言ってから「それでは、お待ちしております。」と言いました。「待っています」のもっと丁寧な言い方ですね。」 も「待つ is to wait, and 待っています is we are waiting for you, but お待ちしております is more polite to say.」 さ「そして最後に「失礼します」「失礼いたします」と言いました。電話をしている時は、「さようなら」を使わずに「失礼します」と言います。でも友達と電話をする時は「ばいばい」で大丈夫です」 も「You don’t say さようなら on the phone but 失礼します. But when you call your friends, it’s okay to say ばいばい」
さ「はい、みなさん、わかりましたか？では、もう一度、聞いてみましょう」
