今日の天気は晴れのち曇り。最高気温は８度です。まだまだ寒い日が続いています。
最近、朝仕事をする前に１０分くらいヨガをしています。
いや〜。やっぱり朝体を動かすのはいいですよね！気分が明るくなります。

今日のトピックは「日本の動物」です。
みなさん、日本の動物の種類をいくつ知っていますか？
動物：animals,

日本は自然が豊かですよね。
自然：nature
豊か：rich, wealthy (full of nature)
日本には、川や海、湖がありますし、それから山や森も多いです。
日本の７０％を森が占めているらしいですよ。
占めている：it occupies
だから日本は、自然が豊かな国です。
つまり、日本で生きている動物もたくさんいます！
日本で生まれて日本で育った動物は、日本の「固有種」といいます。

固有種：Endemic species
日本の固有種は、どのくらいいると思いますか？
なんと、１３１種類だそうです。けっこうたくさんいますよね〜。
どんな動物が、日本の固有種だと思いますか？
有名な動物だとね、サルとかシカです。
さる：monkey
シカ：deer
日本のサルの種類の名前は「ニホンザル」、シカは「ニホンジカ」とか「エゾジカ」という種類です。
さるは東京にもいますし、山の上に登ったら時々サルに会えますよ。
それから、シカは奈良県とか、広島県、宮城県などの神社で見ることができます。
大きくてきれいなシカです。
あとね、イノシシ！知ってますか？イノシシも日本にたくさんいますよ〜。
イノシシ：a wild boar
あの、早く走るブタみたいな動物ですね。これも「ニホンイノシシ」という種類です。
それから、たぬきや狐も有名ですね。私が昔東京に住んでいた時、よく家の近くでたぬきを見ました。
たぬき：a racoon,
きつね（狐）：fox
そして、北海道に行ったら日本の熊がいます。「ニホンツキノワグマ」という名前らしいです。大きくて黒くて、ちょっと危ない熊です。
それから、うさぎも有名です。かわいいですからね。
うさぎの神社とかたくさんありますよ。ぜひ行ってみてくださいね、うさぎ神社。笑
他にもいろいろな日本の動物がいますからね。日本に来たら、山とか森とか海に行って、色々な動物を探してみてください。
