昼間は暑くなりそうですね。
日本では、5月から6月の季節を「初夏」と呼びます。漢字は「最初」の「初」（初め）+「夏」で、「初夏」です。
英語だと、The beginning of summer とか early summer ですね。
ちなみに、the middle of summer, midsummer のことを、「真夏」といいます。
「真ん中」+「夏」ですから、「真夏」です。

今日のトピックは「私がどうやってチェコ語を勉強したのか！」です。
How I learned Czech language.
そう、私は実はチェコ語が話せるんです。とは言っても、もう今は日本に住んでいてチェコ語をほとんど使いませんから、かなり忘れてしまいました。チェコに住んでいた時は、結構上手に話せていましたが、今はもう全然上手に話せないと思います。

でも、実は2年くらい勉強したらチェコ語が普通に話せるようになったので、今日は私がどうやってチェコ語を勉強したのかを、お話しようと思います。
Actually, after studying Czech for about two years, I became able to speak Czech in daily life, so today I would like to talk about how I learned Czech.
Češtinu jsem studovala asi 2 roky a za jen 2 roky, moje čeština se moc zlepšila, takže dnes bych chtěla mluvit o tom, jak jsem studovala češtinu.
Ale byla jsem v Česku celkově asi 7 let, a navíc jsem pracovala v českém firmě, takže asi to není fér.

私は大学3年生の時に、チェコに１年間留学しました。
留学する：to study abroad です
ですが、その時は英語とかヨーロッパの歴史を勉強しに行ったので、チェコ語は全然わかりませんでした。Dobrý den, pivo prosím. だけでしたね。今のは、「こんにちは、ビールください。」です。笑
チェコに住む人にとっては一番大切なフレーズですね。笑
留学が終わって日本に帰ってからも私は本当にチェコが大好きだったので、チェコ語を続けたいと思ってチェコ語の学校に通いました。それは１週間に１回だけのチェコ語レッスンです。続ける：to continue 続けたい : want to continue
１週間に１回 = once a week.
でも１週間に１回だけのレッスンじゃ、全然足りなかったですね。足りない：not enough
全然足りなかったから、Youtubeでチェコ語のビデオを探して、勉強しました。
そしたらちょうど、「チェコ語弁論大会がある」という話を聞いて、とても興味が沸きました。
弁論大会 = speech contest, 興味が湧く：to become interested in something
大会：competition, contest
スピーチ（弁論）をするのは全然好きじゃないけど、この弁論大会で優勝したら（if I win）、チェコに行ける飛行機のチケットがもらえると聞いて、私は「ok, 弁論大会に出よう！」と決めました。笑
〜に出る：to participate in…
決める：to decide
それから私はスピーチの原稿（scipt）を書いて、チェコ人の友達にチェックしてもらったら、あとは毎日これを読んで練習していました。勉強したことがない文法や言葉も使っていましたが、何回も読んでいたらその文法を簡単に覚えることができました。
チェコ人にスピーチを録音してもらって、それも毎日聞いていました。録音する：to record
とにかく、１つの大きい目標があったから、勉強するのがとても楽しかったですね。
目標：goal
弁論大会（スピーチコンテスト）では、残念ながら飛行機のチケットはもらえず、代わりにペンとノートをもらいました。笑

でもその経験のおかげで、チェコ語の発音はとてもよくなりました。

その弁論大会が終わったあとで、私はチェコのオロモウツにあるチェコ語の学校へ行って、１年間チェコ語を勉強しました。
毎日宿題をして、毎週テストをしていました。私にとって、毎週テストをしていたことは本当に良かったと思うし、このおかげでチェコ語力が上がったんだと思います。
テストは、私の良い目標になるからです。目標：goal
小さい目標でも、何か目標があると勉強するモチベーションがあがりますよね。

あとは、チェコ人の友達とビールやワインを飲みながら話したり、チェコの映画を見たり、簡単な子供の本を読むことも良い練習になりましたし、とても楽しく勉強できました。
