また寒くなりましたね〜。なかなかセーターをクローゼットにしまうことができません。。。

今日のトピックは「東京マラソンとサスティナビリティ」です！
ね〜。今日もカタカナがたくさん出てきましたね。
みなさん、東京マラソンって知っていますか？
マラソンは英語で、marathonですね。42.195kmを走るフルマラソンです。
それからサスティナビリティも英語です。Sustainability です。
今日は、東京マラソンとサスティナビリティについて話します。
東京マラソンは、誰でも自由に参加できるマラソンです。
女性も男性も、子供もお年寄りも、外国の人も、車椅子の人も障害がある人も、みんなが参加できます。
お年寄り：old people

参加する：to participate, to join
あ、でも障害がある人とか子供は42km走りませんよ。10kmくらいです。
毎年3月に行われます。
まぁ、もともとは2月に行われていたらしいんですけど、新しい天皇のお誕生日が２月だから、マラソンは3月になったそうです。笑

ちなみに、2021年と2022年（去年と今年）はコロナのせいで中止になってしまいました。
残念ですね。
でも東京マラソンは楽しいイベントですよ。
大きい道路をマラソンコースにして、新宿からスタートします。
みんなで道路を走るんです。だから車はその日は通ることができません。
新宿からスタートして、神田を通って秋葉原に行って、それから浅草、両国、日本橋を通って、銀座のあとで東京タワーを通り過ぎて、東京駅でフィニッシュです！
ね、すごいですよね。東京マラソン。
で、東京マラソンではサスティナビリティの運動に取り組んでいます。
運動：exercise, campaign, movement
取り組む：to work on…
一つ目は、ペットボトルのリサイクルです。
例えば2020年にランナーが使ったペットボトルを全部回収して、2023年の大会で使うための新しいジャケットを作ります。
回収する：to collect
それから、マラソンで会社やりポーターなどが車を使う時は、EV車を使います。
あとは、広告のために使われた旗や紙などを使って、かばんを作ります。

東京マラソンの近くではコンサートとか行われたり、食べ物の屋台とかも出るので、楽しいお祭りの日になります。
