金子みすゞさんは、大正時代の有名な童謡の詩人です。

金子みすゞさんは子供のための詩を書いていました。
今日はその有名な詩を読んでみますね。
詩：poem
『私と小鳥と鈴と』
私が両手をひろげても、
お空はちっとも飛べないが、
飛べる小鳥は私のように、
地面（じべた）を速くは走れない。
私がからだをゆすっても、
きれいな音は出ないけど、
あの鳴る鈴は私のように、
たくさんな唄(うた)は知らないよ。
鈴と、小鳥と、それから私、
みんなちがって、みんないい。
The little bird, the bell, and me / Misuzu Kaneko
Even if I spread out both hands,
I cannot fly at all in the sky,
But the bird that can fly
Cannot run fast on the ground like me.
Even if I shake my body,
It doesn’t make beautiful sounds,
But the ringing bell
Doesn’t know as many songs as me.
A bell, a bird and me,
Everyone is different, everyone is great.
みんなちがって、みんないい。
良い詩ですよね〜。みなさんはどう思いましたか？
実は、金子みすゞさんは２６歳で亡くなりました。自殺をしたんです。
亡くなる：to pass away
自殺をする：to commit suicide (killed herself)
２０歳の時に詩を書き始めました。
そして２３歳で結婚しました。
でも、旦那さんはみすゞさんに厳しくて、彼女が詩を書くことを禁止しました。
However, her husband was very strict with Misuzu and forced her to stop writing poetry.
それから離婚をしましたが、旦那さんはみすゞさんに子供を渡しませんでした。
She then got a divorce, but her husband did not give their child to Misuzu.
みすゞさんは絶望して、毒を飲んで自殺してしまいました。
In despair, Misuzu committed suicide by taking poison.
でも、今でも人々はみすゞさんの詩がとても好きなので、その詩は音楽でリメイクされて、子供の歌として使われています。
