１１月２６日はブラックフライデーでした。
ブラックフライデーは、アメリカで始まったバーゲンセールのことですね。
アメリカのサンクスギビングデーが終わったあとの金曜日、クリスマスプレゼントを売るためにたくさんのお店がセールを始めます。
では、なぜ「ブラック」= 黒の金曜日と呼ばれているのでしょうか？
色々な理由があるらしいですが、ブラックは「黒字」を表すからだと言われています。
会社の商品がたくさん売れたら「黒字」、全然売れなかったら「赤字」になるのです。
今年のブラックフライデーも「黒字」になるでしょうか？

Black Friday is a bargain sale that started in the United States.
On the Friday after Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., lots of shops start selling Christmas gifts.
Well, why is it called “Black Friday”?
There are many reasons, but it is said that black represents “surplus”.
If a company sells a lot of products, it is in the black, and if it doesn’t sell at all, it is in the red.
Will this year’s Black Friday be “black” as well?

日本でも、AmazonやRakutenなどでブラックフライデーセールをやっています。
でも、ちょっと変ですよね。
日本には、もともとthanksgivingの文化もクリスマスの文化もありません。
だからこれは完全にアメリカの文化を真似(まね)して、日本はセールをしたいだけなんですね。
まぁ、実は私も、この週末に買い物しようと思っています。だってブラックフライデーセールは、週末まで続いてますからね。
