今日のトピックは「久しぶり」です。

久しぶりなので、私の話をします。

私は今年、大学院を修了しました。

大学は「卒業する」といいますが、大学院は「修了する」といいます。

私は今年、大学院を修了しました。

大学院では、日本語教育について学びました。

もっと良い日本語の先生になるためです。

とても楽しかったですよ！

私はもう30代のおばさんですから、クラスメイトのほとんどは年下でした。

そしてクラスメイトの半分は、外国人でした。

中国人や韓国人、カザフスタン人やエジプト人・・・。

その外国人のクラスメイトは、日本人と同じように日本語で勉強して、しかも日本語で修士論文を書いていました。すごいですよね。

しかも：besides

修士論文：master’s thesis

〜と同じように：just like …

大学院の授業はとても忙しかったです。

毎日、たくさんの宿題がありました。時々、夜中まで勉強しなきゃいけませんでした。

夜中：midnight, late night

でも、とても勉強になりました。

勉強になる：to learn a lot and it was very useful.

日本語教育について、もっと深く学ぶことができたと思います。

深く：deeply

学ぶ：to learn

それから、実は、去年赤ちゃんを出産しました！

赤ちゃん：baby

出産する：to have a baby, to give a birth

今、赤ちゃんは1歳です。

つまり、大学院で勉強しながら、赤ちゃんのお世話をしていました。

つまり：that means / in other words

〜しながら：while I am doing..

お世話をする：to take care of, to raise (a baby, kid, pet etc.)

とっっっても可愛いけど、とっっっっても大変でしたよ！笑

今も大変だけど、赤ちゃんが小さい時は本当に忙しかったです。

0歳の赤ちゃんは、毎日よく泣いていました。

泣きます：to cry

それから、毎晩、何度も起きていました。笑

毎晩：every night

何度も：many times

毎晩、夜8時に寝ますが、次は夜の11時くらいに起きます。

0歳の赤ちゃんは、3時間しか寝ません。

The newborn baby only sleeps 3 hours（maybe only my baby :p）

そして、次は夜中の2時くらいに起きます。

夜中：midnight, early morning

そして、次は朝の5時くらい。

次は、朝の8時くらい。。。。

可愛いけど、やっぱり、とてもとても忙しかったです。笑

でも、家族とか友達とか、ベビーシッターさんたちがサポートしてくれたおかげで、私は無事に大学院を修了することができました。

無事に：without problem

Today's topic is "Long Time No See."Since it's been a while, I'd like to talk about myself today.

This year, I completed graduate school.We say "graduate" for university, but for graduate school, we say "complete" in Japanese.

So yes, I completed graduate school this year.

In grad school, I studied Japanese language education.In order to become a better Japanese teacher.

It was a lot of fun!I'm already in my 30s, so most of my classmates were younger than me.And half of them were international students! There were people from China, Korea, Kazakhstan, Egypt...These international classmates studied in Japanese just like the Japanese students, and even wrote their master’s theses in Japanese.Isn't that amazing?

The classes at graduate school were really demanding.We had tons of homework every day, and sometimes I had to study late into the night.But I learned a lot.I think I was able to deepen my understanding of Japanese language education.

And actually—last year, I had a baby!My baby is now one year old.That means I was raising a baby while studying in grad school.

She is super cute, but it was super tough! Haha

It’s still hard now, but when she was a newborn, things were really hectic.

A 0-year-old baby cries a lot every day.And they wake up a lot at night too, haha.She goes to bed around 8 p.m., but then wakes up again around 11 p.m.Then again around 2 a.m.,then again around 5 a.m.,and again around 8 a.m....

If she’s hungry, I feed her milk.If she cries a lot, I pick her up and hold her.She’s adorable, but yes—it was really, really exhausting. Haha

But thanks to the support of my family, friends, and babysitter,I was able to complete grad school safely.From now on, I’ll continue doing my best as a Japanese teacher!
